Crime fiction writer, Michael Connelly is one of my favorite authors. He has several series going but the one I mainly follow are his Harry Bosch books. Harry is a man with a creed. The stories I’ve read (the first four) are solidly written mysteries. The author manages to tap into and involve readers in race or racial profiling, police politics and the social issues that are pertinent today. The series is mostly narrated in third person but somewhere in the middle the author flipped it to first person. There is a loosely related series featuring Harry Bosch’s brother, Michael Haller, a defense attorney living in LA (The Lincoln Lawyer and The Brass Verdict). I’ve enjoyed this author since I first read Blood Work. Romance appeal I would say is very low.
