Snow Blind (A Monkeewrench Novel) – PJ Tracy

“Snow Blind” by PJ Tracy (mother/daughter writing team) is a police procedural and fourth book in the series, set out in the Midwest, featuring MPD detectives: Leo Magozzi and his partner, Gino Rolseth along with the Monkeewrench crew of computer geeks: Grace, Harley, Roadrunner and Annie.

Monkeewrench is a Minnesota software company known to be one of the best for technology in crime-solving applications and security. They often work in close proximity to two MPD detectives (read above), assisting where they can in bypassing security or firewalls. The series started off featuring the Monkeewrench crew but in this entry, they are in the background.

The first fall of snow has finally arrived in Minneapolis and someone is out there killing cops. Detectives Leo Magozzi and his partner, Gino Rolseth, are attending a police sponsored event when two bodies are found buried in “snowmen.” Turns out to be two policeman from the Second. Then we have a parole officer who goes missing after his scheduled appointment with a parolee. Last, we have ex-con with a history of domestic violence who is determined to find his ex-wife. These three threads make up the bulk of the story that is “Snow Blind.” Continue reading
