Nordic crime fiction writer, Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole series, set in Oslo, Norway is one of best series out there. If you’re looking for a series that offers more than your typical police procedural mystery, you need to check out this writer. His books are solidly plotted and feature the flawed yet talented detective, Harry Hole. A man who is consistently wrestling with his demons and alcohol. There’s a nice thread that starts in “The Redbreast” and ends with “The Devil’s Star” about Harry trying to avenge the death of someone close to him. Harry suspects that “Prince” which is the code name of a gun smuggler might also be a cop. Very exciting and ongoing thread that is weaved throughout the books and promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. Not all of the Harry Hole books have been translated to English yet but this is series reading order you should follow:
