Recommended Reads

The Coroner's Lunch by Colin Cotterill is the first book in the Dr. Siri Paiboun series set during the People's Democratic Republic of Laos during the mid to late 1970's.

The Redbreast by Jo Nesbø - third translated book in the Harry Hole series and the best place to start.

Sun Storm by Åsa Larsson is the first book in the Rebecka Martinsson series set in Stockholm. My favorite series.

The Darkest Room by Johan Theorin set off the Baltic coast, this is the second book in a loose four book series. The first book is Echoes From the Dead and that one is pretty good too.

The Pied Piper by Ridley Pearson is apart of the Lou Boldt and Daphne Matthews series but can standalone very well. Excellent thriller.

The Cold, Cold Ground by Adrian McKinty set in Belfast during the 1980's Hunger strike and first in the trilogy featuring Detective Sergeant Sean Duffy. Link is to the audio version.

Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane - a locked room mystery set on an island surrounded by water and rock, with communication cut off and a hurricane heading towards it. Gripping mystery with a twist.
