Browsing Comixology app, I saw a free preview for the upcoming graphic novel depiction of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Vol.1 that’s coming out November 2012 from Vertigo. Writing credit goes to Denise Mina. Personal comment: Could they draw her any thinner? You can see the bones in her back. Below is another look at her. There are 23 frames in the preview.
My first thought was similar to yours about how thin she looks, followed immediately by, yes, she was that thin. My third thought was “oooh, Denise Mina.” Finally, I’m left with the sense that I can’t do this again, at least not yet. One day I will re-read or re-listen or re-watch, just not soon.
I went back to the sacred texts and Salander is described as being so thin as to be anorexic. *shudder* I’m not interested in the graphic novel interpretation either. Once was enough.
My first take was, “Denis Mina ‘wrote’ it? Does she read Swedish?” Can you say “copyright”?
Does it seem like Salander is modeled after Noomi Rapace or it just me?
I thought she looked more like Rooney Mara a bit but can see both. Weird.
